Our District's Mission

RCSD creates a safe and supportive, inspirational and rigorous, joyful and inclusive environment for all learners

New Partnership Adds to District’s Innovative Teacher Pipelines

With an eye toward the future, Redwood City School District (RCSD) is partnering with rising educators from San Jose State University (SJSU) through a unique Bilingual Residency Program. The multifaceted program recruits and retains enthusiastic teachers to our already accomplished and gifted team.

Meet Our Spanish Immersion Program

Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School brings together Spanish and English speaking students and families for the opportunity of a promising future of being bilingual, biliterate, and academically enriched.

Stanford Study of RCSD's Spanish Immersion Program Confirms Previous Research of High Levels of Academic Achievement.

Local high school students who graduated from RCSD's Dual Language Immersion Program in Spanish are reaching high levels of academic achievement and outperforming their peers. That’s the conclusion to which a team of Stanford University researchers arrived after performing a longitudinal study following several cohorts of Spanish Immersion graduates.

Our School Garden

Adelante Selby’s school garden is a special space where children connect the standards they are learning in the classroom to the natural world around them. Activities in the vigorous and vibrant oasis are linked to language arts, history, science, and nutrition curriculum through planned--and spontaneous--lessons.

Father-Daughter Team Spread Inspiration in the Classroom

Alfredo and Jennifer Mercado are a dynamic pair, who thrive best as a team in their colorful medium of crayons, construction paper, kid-safe scissors and cardboard cutouts at Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School in Atherton.

Differentiated Instruction: Meeting the Needs of All RCSD Students

Through differentiation, each child can excel and grow using a more personalized plan based on assessments throughout the school year. Teachers can tailor content, environment, and process to provide a curriculum that works well for a student’s specific needs and learning style.
