Meet Our School Leadership

Adelante Selby Principal Alcocer

Ms. Patricia Alcocer | Principal

I joined the Redwood City School District in 2009 and have worked as an immersion teacher in the Spanish Immersion Program for the last thirteen years. I have experience teaching Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. Throughout the years, I have taken on numerous leadership opportunities such as the School Leadership Team and helping new teachers as a BTSA mentor.

I enjoy working with staff and parents to support the continued social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of our students and community.
Working in Spanish Immersion has always been a passion of mine, and I am excited to continue to grow with our community.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, watching my LA Dodgers, and traveling.

Mr. José Luna | Community School Coordinator

My name is Jose Luna, and I’m proud to be in my fifth year as the Community School Coordinator here at Adelante Selby. My journey in education began right here in the Redwood City School District back in 2011, when I worked as an Instructional Aide at Adelante Spanish Immersion.

After earning my degree in Public Relations from Cal State Northridge, I returned to RCSD as a substitute teacher. I later served as a Family Engagement, Outreach, and Equity Specialist with the Hayward Unified School District—the same district where I grew up and attended school.

I found my way back to RCSD, stepping into my current role as Community School Coordinator. It’s been incredibly rewarding to return to the district that helped shape the start of my career.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, binge-watching reality TV, checking out new restaurants, planning my next vacation, playing with my dogs, or making my way through the stack of books on my nightstand.
