The robust garden space and outdoor classroom is a tranquil area where students can connect curriculum standards to the world around them. That space is getting an update thanks to a donation of lumber and supplies from Big Creek Lumber, and to the dedicated parent volunteers and teacher, Ms. Forker, who applied for the gardening grant.
Each year, Bay Area Parent magazine holds a reader’s choice survey asking parents and guardians to nominate the best of the best across several categories.
Adelante Selby student Abigail’s drawing of a two-story home, dotted with flowers and a meandering path, is featured as the December 2024 submission for this year’s calendar contest.
The Collaborative, initiated in 2020, has proved to be highly successful in expanding school mental health support and delivery. With the implementation of this partnership, at least 75 percent of Redwood City School District (RCSD) students indicate they now feel comfortable speaking with a counselor, recognize their school counselor, and know where to go to access counseling on campus. Accomplishments of this strategic alliance most recently earned a 2023 Stanford Community Partnership Award.
Earlier this spring, the City called for children in Redwood City to write an essay expressing what they would do to make Redwood City a better place to live and play.
Through the efforts of the Redwood City School District (RCSD) and the non-profit, CityTrees, 13 climate-appropriate trees were planted in early October on the Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School campus in Atherton.
