2nd Grade - Alvarez, Cinthya

Cinthya Alvarez

About Me:

My name is Cinthya Alvarez de Kanaday, and I am proud to be a teacher at Adelante Selby! I was born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. I earned my Bachelors’ in Science at the Universidad Autonóma de Nuevo León, majoring in Nutrition. I have been part of the Redwood City community for 17 years and part of the Spanish Immersion Program for 9 years. I started as a volunteer for the Art in Action program, then as an Instructional Assistant for first and second grade. This gave me the opportunity to see firsthand the amazing work the immersion teachers do, and get inspired to become one of them. I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at Notre Dame de Namur University, as well as two Single Subject Credentials in Science and Spanish. My hobbies include listening to music, learning new things, trying new food, reading, and hiking. I am thrilled to be part of Adelante Selby. Looking forward to an amazing school year!
