About Me:

My name is Maria Orozco and I am proud to be a teacher at Adelante Selby! I have been a teacher for the last 24 years. I was born in Spain and I moved to the United States when I was 10 years old. I feel that this experience helped me help those who are learning a second language and I am able to support them both academically and emotionally. I have had the pleasure of being a teacher in the Redwood City School district for the last 24 years. I graduated from San Francisco State and received my teaching credential from Hispanic National University in San Jose. I have taught at Fair Oaks, Clifford School, Adelante, and now at Adelante I have also taught and directed the New Comer Summer program. I am very excited to be part of this program and have this great opportunity as a teacher. Education is one of my passions and I hope we all can learn and have fun in the process. My hobbies include water skiing, camping, reading and spending time with my family. I am thrilled to be part of Adelante Selby...let's have a great year!.
